How a race works

Start a race and send the link to one person. When they join, you both get a three-second countdown and the same five-letter word.

The first to solve it wins. Run out of guesses and you can't win, but if your opponent runs out too, it's a draw.

The page wears the word's album colours for both of you, like the hint in the normal game.

You see your opponent's colours as they play, never their letters. Every guess is checked on the server, so nobody can peek at the answer.

Races don't count towards the leaderboard, streaks or badges. Your name is shown only to your opponent and deleted with the race after a day.
